When i first came to canada and applied for work permit at port of entry i answered no about criminal convictions as my police record was clean. However when i received a new police certificate to apply for PR it came back with no live trace meaning i have an old record. When i applied for PR i sent a letter explaining ten years ago i had received a warning from police for marijuana possession. Well i be denied PR due to misrepresenting myself on work permit even though i told the truth on my PR application?

AS long as you were not charged by police you should be fine.

I wasnt arrested or convicted but i was cautioned which in the uk is like a warning.. like dont do it again or next time you will be convicted. My name was kept on police records but just incase i reoffended for no other reason. It was 10 years ago and for a tiny bit of marijuana that would only have been a summary offence in canada.

You should be fine. If it was just a warning, if you would've charged that's a problem for sure. You shouldn't even mentioned that in your PR file.

Actually, a UK Police Caution can be accepted, in which case you are admitting the offence, or rejected, leading to a court appearance. By accepting the caution, you have admitted guilt. It's NOT just a warning.
