Hello Guys

Hoping to get some advice here!

We I applied for a working holiday visa I didn't declare that a had a conviction. My subject access cert was blank, the offence was benefit fraud.

I was 33 (2008) at the time of the application, and I was convicted somewhere between the ages of 17 - 19, I can't remember. At the time I called the local court and was advised to call the county court (Chelmsford), as the records would be there. I was told if there they would be in the basement along with tens of thousands of other records, and without a date they could not help me!

I lived in Vancouver with my Canadian partner for 2 years, applying for extensions twice, 6 month temporary residence visas once again, no disclosing the past.

Since then we relocated to Dublin, Ireland where we applied for and received a EU family visa, giving my partner 5 years residence here in Ireland.

I have been back to Vancouver twice in the last couple of years for visits.

We hope to start the common law sponsorship next year, But I want to come clean to CIC before this. Any advice please, I have been worrying about this for 5 years :(

Why don't you get a police clearance certificate and see if it shows up first .

My police clearance certificate back in 2008 had no history. And I haven't lived in the UK since, or been arrested ect ever.

You could apply for a new PCC and see what it now says. If it's "NO TRACE" then you may be ok. If however it says "NO LIVE TRACE" you will be flagged as having a "history". What you do then is up to you.
