Hi. I have heard that if a minor child comes to Canada and studies then he/she can get pr in canada when he/she turns 19. My friend is an international student and enrolled in computer engineering. She is 17 years old. What is the easiest way to get pr in canada for her.

There is no such rule. You heard wrong.

Detailed information about Canada's immigration programs is here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/apply.asp

She needs to have at least one year of full time paid work experience before she can apply. And any time spend working while in school cannot be counted towards this total. Applying doesn't necessarily mean she will be selected. So at this point she would need to finish school and get her diploma or degree - and work at least one year before she can consider applying for PR.

1. Be a refugee
2. Marry a Canadian

Until they change it, students are no better in the immigration system than others under economic class. All goes to the same CRS points and whoever gets more gets in faster. (Or PNP). It does, however, making it easier to find jobs in Canada with a Canadian degree

I am also international students and lived here for the past 8 years. I am still struggling to get PR.
