Hi,

On CIC's website it is mentioned that
"If the parents are separated or divorced and one of them has sole custody of the child: the letter of authorization may be signed by that parent only and they should bring a copy of the custody decree."

I have a question, that if someone is applying online for TRV visa for a kid, do they have to upload Custody decree during the application or Custody decree is only required to show at the port of entry to immigration officer?

One of my friend has got his kid's custody but court is taking some time to release the official custody decree. So would you suggest him to apply online and start the application so that when application process is on its way he will probably get the custody in hand. That way he prevent some more delay in visa process etc.
or should he wait for the custody decree?

Question in one sentence: Is custody decree for a minor has to be uploaded for TRV visa? or does it require at the port of entry (while entering Canada)?

Your suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
