I am a 16-year-old minor who wishes to cross the border by land.I'm studying in Seattle and wants to travel to Vancouver during my vacation break and my parents will be joining me there. As far as I know,I need someone in Vancouver who will look after me while in Canada. My problem is I don't know anyone in Vancouver for that requirement. My primary concern is "will the immigration officer let me into Canada if I travel alone without that requirement'?

What is your immigration status in the US?

You can enter till the time you have a Visa or hold a passport from a Visa exempt country. You must have an authorization to travel signed by both parents or legal guardian to enter Canada.

I have all the required documents but I don't have this one since my parents will be waiting for me on the other side of the border.
  • the name, address and telephone number of the adult who will look after the child in Canada.

Looks like you can't then. Do you already have a visitor visa or are you applying for one or are you from a Visa exempt country? Your parents can cross over and take you back along with them.
I have a visitor visa for canada and F1 visa for US and I'm currently in US.My parents don't have US visa but they have Canada visa. They will come to Canada during my vacation break and I need to cross the border in order to see them. I have all the requirements as mentioned in the link but lack this one because I don't have a friend or relatives in Canada,

I agree with you and I guess like you in the same way.But I'm worried to turn back from the border due to insufficient documentations.Anyway, thanks for help.I do believe you but how can I make more clear for this case? Thanks a lot for your answer and appreciate it.

They probably will try to reach your parents after looking at the authorization form if you explain to them what is happening so have it in writing signed by both your parents on the authorization form. Very unlikely they will turn you down but who are you crossing with?
There is a high chance they won't even bother. Haha. Good luck.
I'm crossing by myself.

You would need to apply for a TRV or an eTA depending on the passport you hold/passport you intend to travel with in case of dual passports.

As a minor + your intention to travel/enter Canada alone, your entry will be viewed more closely by the officer at the POE. You won't be waved inside.

You would need to bring:
1. Written consent from both your parents + copies of their passports and their 24/7 information

2. Copy of your birth certificate

3. Copies of your parents' valid eTAs or TRVs + their plane tickets for the same duration as your intended visit

4. Evidence of funds (or financial support) from your parents + their bank statements and/or transfers to your bank account in the US

You be fine! A friendly Canuck will make sure your safe and help you unite with your family. Haha. Just make sure you carry the authorization! Have fun.
Very funny! But, it's not entirely true. The OP must bring all the necessary documents
