Hi

We have applied citizenship in Aug 2019 together, In Jan 2021 we completed citizenship test for myself and my wife . For myself and my wife the status shows complete except oath ceremony, my son is 13 yrs and he didn't wrote the citizenship test because he is minor, today I checked his application status and all status shows as in progress .. My question is since my status and my wife status shows complete for presence in Canada, prohibition etc why it's not reflecting the same for my son? Can you pls share your thoughts that would be helpful

hi, did your child's status change?

We are in a similar situation. Me and my wife took tests in mid 2021 and our status changed to Decision Made in ECAS in Dec 2021. All except oath are shown as Complete in the tracker. But for my minor son, the ECAS still shows In Progress and tracker shows everything except Prohibitions as In Progress. There is no change of status after Dec 2021.

From the above answer from @CaBeaver, it seems this is normal, and we can expect oath invite for adults, irrespective of the status of minors. Anyone else had this same experience, could you please confirm.

The tracker for an accompanied minor doesn't change till the oath is scheduled. Once the oath is done, everything in the tracker switches to complete.

Same situation here - waiting for oath since Jul 2021. I now think that families with children who are not eligible for test and did not do test are not getting oath invitations because their child application is still IN PROGRESS and that is impacting the full application for the family.

Except my application was tied up with a child's application and I had my oath last month.
The real problems are that the process has no accountability behind it, the various offices are not necessarily following the same standard procedures, there's no load balancing between offices, and the date that one applies isn't necessarily well-correlated with the date that one's application is dealt with.

There are a lot of things IRCC could have done to make things go easier - especially over the last two years while the pandemic has made everyone change the way they've been working. One quick and easy fix to ease the workload on IRCC as a whole would have been to universally extend the validity of PR cards that were expiring in 2020/2021 by 12 months and issue some statement to that effect. Another would have been to move routine passport renewals to an online platform like the UK did which would have eased the workload in passport offices (which are basically another arm of IRCC).
