Hi guys, I was promoted to shift supervisor by my company. I used to work part time for the same company as a student. They agreed to promote me, however, it is a very small company and told me they cannot give me a raise in my pay until probation. Unfortunately, they pay me minimum wage. Would that be a problem?

Yes - it's possible that could be a problem when you apply for CEC. Normally wage doesn't matter. However a supervisor should not be making minimum wage and if you are being paid so little, IRCC may have concerns you are not performing the job that you are claiming.

How long is the probation period? Are you sure you will receive a pay increase after the probation period? If you receive a pay increase that is reasonable, this may not be an issue.

But according to the CIC website, there are no minimum wage requirements

Yes - that's true.

But as said above, if you are only being paid minimum wage for a supervisory role, this doesn't make sense and IRCC may question if you are really doing a supervisory job or if your employer has given you this title just to facilitate PR.

We have seen a number of cases where this has happened on the forum. So you should anticipate problem if you submit 1 year of supervisory experience at a minimum wage pay grade.

When does your probation end? How soon will you get a pay increase after getting the supervisory role?

I agree with scylla, because on refusal letter they always mention on the basis of balance of probabilities i am not satisfied that you have performed duties mentioned in the reference letter.
