Minimum length of course required to get study permit

Dear Friends,

Please suggest and guide me regarding my situation.

I have done three year diploma in electrical engineering from India and i am also in job from last 9.5 years in my feild, now i want to do further study in Canada...could you guide me what is the minimum length of courses available in Canada for me to get work permit after the completion of study.

The program has to be at least eight months.

However an eight month program will only get you an eight month post graduate work permit and it will be very difficult to convert this to PR.
