Hi,
I'm now a PR. I left Canada 3 years ago and was out of the country for 2 years, then I came back 1 year ago. One problem for me is that my days in the country for the past 5 years barely meets the minimum requirements (730 days). Last time when I came back from USA (business trip) the immigration officer counted my days and warned me to stay in the country.
However I'm having a situation that my mother in China is having a serious health issue and I may need to go back to China. If that happens I will not meet the requirement and very likely to be deprived of PR status.
My question is, is it possible to let CIC know that this leaving is for humanity reason so I can be given some extra allowance? How to contact them for this?
Thanks for any advice.
