Do people usually use a courier service to send their application from overseas to Mississauga?

I wanted to send by FedEx, and from past experience they normally require a phone number to go with the address. I can't see an official page with the Mississauga number on it but an old forum post suggested 613 944 4000 to reach their call centre.

Is that the number I should give to FedEx?

It is always best to send it with tracking so that you know it arrived. That can be through regular mail or courier, up to you. For the phone number for FedEx, you can give any number. I doubt CIC would help if the courier actually called.

I sent mine by Canada Post Expresspost with signature service. Canada Post provided me a tracking number, but they were slow to update their website, so the tracking was almost useless to me. In addition, they told me when I called to check on the status of my package delivery that since the package was being dropped off to a mail room at CIC, they may, or may not, be able to provide me a copy of the signature. All in all, the lesson to be learned is: Don't use Canada Post - use a real courier.
