Hi there,

I was applying for renewal of my study permit and I had all the documents and funds paid. I applied online. The thing was that my permit expired on Nov 30 and I was submitting my form on the 29th. I know I should have done it sooner but exams and school in general plus a hold on my university account kept me from filing for it any sooner. Anyway, today is the 12th of December and I logged into the CIC website to see what's going on, and I see my form still in transit. Which meant it hadn't been submitted yet. I had used a prepaid card to pay the $125 fee for the study permit renewal on Nov 29 and I thought once I did that it would bring me to a page to submit the form, but it just brought me to a page saying that I had filed the application and that I can log out now. I thought that was it. But today, Dec 12 when I saw my application again sitting there, I knew I f-ed up. So now I had to re-send the form and pay $325 for study permit renewal and temporary status renewal together. So not only did I waste a lot of money but my heart is jumping in my chest at the idea of waiting for a decision on my life. I do not want to leave Canada for a stupid mistake I made. Has anyone ever had a situation like this arise? I will appreciate any words of wisdom.
