I had a meeting with my MP. All went well. His assistant met me because the MP is a minister now. So, she asked me some background questions, took the info, said she will ask for a special case and write to the embassy and I should be waiting for a reply in a week.
Pretty sweet. Now, hopefully we can know what is stuck in the process.
Sorry if this post is no utility, but I am happy I was well received and had a caring MP's assistant. I have heard horror stories from MP telling their citizens to just wait and that they are still well within the timeframe.
