Medical Test Request w/o Police Clearance

Hi,
I have applied for PNP. Recived PNP approval. Then applied for Federal application without India police clearance because I needed my passport for various reasons.

I sent a letter to the embassy stating that my India police clearance is missing and that I will apply later. Now, I have received a request for medical test.

Does that mean that they dont need a police clearance? I can now apply for police clearance but I am wondering if it is needed or not?

No they will most definitely ask for the police clearance once they have received you medical exams. I also submitted my medical exams this week and I am expecting a request for PCC. I am still waiting on the Canadian ones (4-5 week wait) and I will submit them ASAP. If you don't provide them with the PCC within the timeframe they give you this could cause unnecessary delays

AFAIK, you dont need a Canadian police clearance.
Just curious, what do you mean by "they most definitely ask for...". I am asking this because its not your personal experience yet. Could you please provide the source of your information? forum,friends,gut feel?

CIC says,"In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18."
Therefore, you must have a police record if you had lived in India for 6 months or more in a row suce the age of 18. In my case, I did not need it becuz I came to Canada when I was 16
