I just called vfs and told them that I would be applying for study permit under university category and asked them if I needed to appear for a medical test and if I had to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) along with my application, but that person told me that medical test and PCC are not required while applying for visa? I'm confused please help and also let me know how long before applying for a visa can I take the medical test and PCC, if I am supposed to?

Damn! sorry I should have mentioned it first. I am from India. So, I don't need to get these done unless they ask me to right?

Indian can submit upfront medical along with their visa application file but if not, they(CHC) will ask you later to submit your medical.
Same case is with PCC. If you are not submitting it with your VISA application, CHC will demand it later.

Thanks for the info :)

My consultant from India is saying that PCC is not needed. Anybody from India who applied for student visa please confirm.

My consultant is dumb so I ignored her and just finished applying for PCC online.

if you are applying under SPP Application, then you just need a Medical (so called upfront medical/E-medical) and PCC is not required.

tc..

your consultant is right ,, PCC is not required for Canadian student Visa under SPP (for Indian Residents).

check the new SPP CHECKLIST-2014.
