Hi everyone,

I need some experienced members here who could help me clarify my confusion.
Here's my situation: my mom is here in Canada under multiple entry V-1 visa. She was granted 6 months of stay here and I wanted her to stay longer... Now, my question is.... Is it necessary for her to go for a medical exam now to apply for extension? She had a medical exam done back home in phil 5 months ago. Or shall i just wait til cic will ask for new medical result?

Anyone who can answer my query please?

Thanks.

Yes it is necessary for her to undergo a medical exam however if she had already undergone an immigration medical exam in the past 12 months then she can attach/upload the same medical exam. An immigration medical exam remains valid for 12 months and is good to be used for your mother's extension application.

Hope it helps

I found this old post and I am confused.

I applied for my aunt extension of stay and I didn't see any requirement on medical exam in the document list. She is from the country that does not require visa at the entry to Canada.

Could someone help me to understand in which situations the medical is required at the submission? Thanks!
