Today we got a call from Immigration...our medical was not in the file, but she has the medical receipt from the doctor that did the examination and now our file is being transferred to another representative.

This makes me very nervous that we will be put back in queue because of this.

Is there a number we can call to verify that Ottawa has received my husband's medical. We check ecas and doesn't list a medical and the 1-800 number (help line) says they do not have access to that information.

Hi,
The same has happened to me. I have done my medical 2 months ago. today I received an email from high commission that my 60 days time has gone and they did not receive my medical report and they gave me another 30 days to do it. I am confused, I do not exactly know what to do in this situation. Please someone reply with possible solution. thank you

kind regards

The first thing you should do is try calling the doctor and confirm the office sent your results to ottawa and what day they sent them.

than u can fax ottawa and ask them about the results. if they have them, if not, if they were sent to the VO.
usually they will answer u if u fax them but not if u call or email.

this just happened to a friend of mine. the VO didnt have her medical and she had to get the doctors office to tell ottawa to resend it. and after about a week the visa office received it and it was all good.

Thanks @ leisa!

:)

Yes this just happened to me and my spouse very recently (just got resolved last friday) This is the steps I took to try and be proactive about our medicals being found.

First step: I scanned and resent the the copy of the receipt I had (IMM 1017 -medical report) As well as copies of completed x-ray, blood test, and medical we got for our own personal records. What I also did before sending the email was phoned the medical office, got the date it was sent to the DMP (in our case, ottawa) and by which company. Push them to give them a copy of the confirmation that your medical was recieved by your DMP.

I did then did more research on the subject, its not a common for this to happen, but its also not uncommon for this to happen either. I then decided by some other threads I would contact the DMP and try to get them to send my spouses medicals. Some people claim this worked for them and they got an email from Ottawa back after a few days, but that never happened for me.

What I did next is what I think helped a lot. I called our medical office again. I wanted to see if two different people would tell me two different times they sent our medicals which would be a huge problem. I ended up talking to a wonderful lady. She had 30 years + of experience and broke down to me how the whole medicals work. This is a whole other post, if you want some info on that PM me. We decided that we would wait a week or two to see if our visa office could resolve this on our own, or else she told me she would resend them.

Two weeks past, nothing, so I called her and she put together an email and resent my spouses medical. I thought I would hear back a week or two later, she ended up getting a response that same day said that basically our VO office was also looking for our medicals and that they have been forwarded. Then just yesterday, I checked my spouses e-cas and it said medical recieved.

This is a big pain, but with some proactive steps on your part it is possible to get it resolved quicker.

If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me, and goodluck!
