Medical Examination Doubt- PR Inland Application 2014

Hello everyone!

I have a question regarding the Medical Examination. I submitted my application for PR on March, 03 to CPC-Mississauga and didn't get the AOR yet.

I also applied to extend my visitor visa and CPC-Vegreville sent me by email this week the form IMM1017 requesting me to make the medical examination. I made an appointment for May, 21.

Is it possible to use the same medical examination for both applications (extend stay and PR)?

Should I wait the CPC-Mississauga request the medical examination or can I send it without request? I am asking because I don't have a Application number for my PR application yet, only my UCI.

yeah you can use it for both applications as long as it doesn't expire before they ask you for it for your PR. You will probably get your AOR & SA within the next week or so. I would just wait until they ask you for it, although they might not if they already have it in the system. Make a certified copy of the proof of medical that the doctor gave you because I think you need to send the original and if you are gonna use it for two applications you will only have one original. Best to make a certified copy.

(1) Yes, you can use the same medical exam. The criteria are a bit different (i.e., for spousal sponsorship you are excess demand exempt) so I would mention to the Panel Physician that you're using the exam for both applications (esp. if you are doing the spousal one first so he does any follow-up exams required independently of the fact that as a spouse you'll be excess demand exempt).

(2) When they request the medical, let them know you already did one and send them the name/date of the exam (with a simple copy of the exam completion form0.

Give the Panel Physician your UCI so he includes in on the form. That way when either application looks for your medical exam they will have access to it.
