Hi all-

I have been gathering all the information great information btw but wanted to know something, there is one doctor near me he actually told me I was lucky as he was only a few cities over from where i live to do the Medical exam, lab work etc... The amount he charges seems a little expensive but then again I have never done this before but does he give this report to us to include with our sponsorship papers as well or does he send this seperate to ottawa and we should get our papers in fast since I see him next week!

You have to get a doctor that is on the list from CIC, so it reduces the number of doctors you can see. THe medicals are quite expensive in general, so that's consistent...

He doesn't give you the results themselves, but he gives you a paper to include in your application to show that you have done the medicals. he will send the results to CIC directly, and they will "wait" there for your file to arrive - but no worries, it doesn't need to be immediate. However, since the medicals are only valid for one year, it's best to do them once you are ready to send your papers, and not too much in advance, otherwise they will expire in the middle of the process and you'll have to re-do them again.
Good luck,
Sweden

He'll give you a paper you must include in your application. It's green and white and will have your picture attached.

My doctor in Canada was $180 for the medical. X-ray and bloodwork were $45-50 each. Cheap in my book! (I'm from the USA.)
