Over a week ago, I received a message on cic that I’m required to for a medical exam before any actions can be taken for my study permit extension.

But just 2-3 days ago, I receive another message along with a correspondence letter letting me know that my extension has been approved and that the permit has been mailed to my address.

Since I’ve been issued a new permit and eTA is it still necessary for me to go for the medical exam?

I’ve tried to reach a cic agent but to no avail. And during my first application for the study permit last year, I was not required to do a medical exam.

Are you from or have you lived in a country that required medical exam? Are you doing a course that would require a medical exam?

I’m from Singapore and just checked that it requires me to get one. And my current course of study does not require a medical exam. What’s strange is when I applied last year, I wasn’t required to do one. Also about a month into waiting for the approval of the extension, it was noted on the website that I do not require an examination. So I’m confused right now since I received approval for the extension just a week after the request for the examination.

Should I assume that I’ll need to go for the exam? Since the current status is “your action is required” instead of approved. Still kind of weird that they approve my study permit extension before I even got to do the medical exam.
