Hi

I am trying to submit my PR application but it's asking me for an upfront medical exam in order to apply. I'm in Argentina and the panel physicians here are telling me that as of December 2016 they can no longer do upfront medical exams for the PR. Anyone here with the same issue? I cant apply without the exam!

Any suggestions with what I can do would be appreciated, I cant reach anyone in the govt here or in Canada to help me!

Insist that you have to do an upfront medical and that IRCC won't provide you with any documents regarding the medical.

Tell them this is specifically for the Express Entry program. My doctor said the same thing (in the US), but when I told him it was EE, he remembered that EE has different rules.

I called to schedule my medicals today in US. They asked me to bring IME number when I come.. I am applying through EE and I am not sure what IME number is. Where can I find that?

Or do I need to tell them that it's a upfront medical for Express Entry and only passport number is the possible linkage ?

Upfront. Passport is all that's needed.

Thanks. I was suggested to take EE number too in other thread. Bit confused!

They should just need your passport number. IME number is only given if CIC are asking you to get a medical, as it's upfront they link your medical with your passport number, unless you have a UCI number, they can use that too I think.

Okay, I don't have UCI number. I will carry my EE invite letter just in case. I will insist on keeping the acknowledgement with PP number as it stays universal across profiles. I can use the same in case my app gets cancelled for any reason this time!

You just need the ITA invite letter and passport.

Just got our medicals. Non-ede worker for PA and spouse. Is that correct?

If you don't do upfront you'll get rejected straight away. If you doctor in Argentina insists that he'll not do upfront get WRITTEN confirmation of this and write a LoE explaining this attach the confirmation and MAY BE you'll get luck and IRCC won't cancel your application.

OP, please print this section out and show to your doctor.

I dug in to this yesterday as an arrogant receptionist at the clinic was giving me a hard time to schedule medicals without IME number despite explaining her that it was meant only for family class. It was sorted out after the doctor confirmed that IME number is not required for worker class.
