Hi! Anyone can share their idea or experience about medical conditions. I just gave birth 4 months ago through Cesarian section which means I had surgery. I had postpartum depression and taking antidepressant pill. So it told about it to the panel physician and he noted my medical conditions on my medical report. Do you guys think it is gonna be problem? Is it may cause delay in approval or rejection of my application? Please help.

I don't think so.
They look for ailments that put strain on the healthcare system (mainly cost wise) and (I believe) those which are rare illnesses in Canada -- Tuberculosis and HIV being two such examples.

I doubt it - without lessening the extent of post-partum depression, I can't see them feeling it will be a burden on the healthcare system.

Hi Ronan, were u pregnant when u applied for PR? Did CIC give you a medical request while you were pregnant or did they wait after u give birth? if you don't mind me asking, how did your pregnancy affect your application? Did it slow down the process of ur PR?

Hi... I applied on 18th Oct 2012.. my wife had baby on July 12th this year... i got medical request on last tuesday. I notified them about my daughter when I received the birth certificate which was after two weeks of 12th July.

So i nothing caused any delay in my process...

Hi decentgurl, Yes I applied my PR when I was pregnant and just informed them about my child when I had my child's birth certificate. It was alright.
