Hello everybody, I would appreciate any help in my current situation that I describe below:
Currently, I am living in Ontario and I have an Open Work Permit that expires until January 2023. I am already working in a job that according to my personal research could be considered under the NOC 9411 "Machine Operators, mineral and metal processing", this is a NOC C and it is considered in the list of the "In-demand skills stream" for the province of Ontario".
The thing is that by the middle of next year I will have the 9 months of the required experience and all other requisites to apply under the "In-demand skills stream". However, there is one requirement that I do not meet and it is that according to the official website, at the moment that I apply, my salary must be equal to or exceed the median wage that is reported in the official Job Bank website for this NOC 9411. After checking the Job Bank official website I realized that the Median Wage for this NOC in Northeast Ontario (Where I live) is $34.00 dollars per hour which is ridiculous. No one in that kind of occupation and under that NOC will be earning that salary ever in Ontario. Even the Ontario median wage is $25.00 which could be more reasonable, but maybe for a supervisor not for someone that works solely as an operator. In fact, even my more experienced coworkers earn only $22.00/hour.
My questions are:
1-Do you think that this requirement is highly important?
2-Should I keep this job and apply even though I do not meet this requirement?
3-Has anyone ever applied without meeting this requirement, and what was your experience?
4-Should I keep this job or look for another one before it is too late for getting the 9 months experience (remember that my Work permit expires Jan 2023)
Thanks in advance for any help in this issue. Kind regards and best wishes to everybody on this journey.
