Me and my husband both have COPR. Whereas I will be moving to Canada for work first. We both will enter Canada together for the PR interview but he will not be staying for the initial few months in Canada but join me later. The company lawyer states that I need the following for being authorized to work in Canada. Is that true ?
The spouse seems to have been confirmed as a Canadian permanent resident (PR) and needs to enter Canada to be granted PR status, officially. He can then sponsor his spouse for Canadian Permanent residence. With that application, he can include an application for a work permit, which is generally granted within 4 months of submitting the sponsorship application. Until the work permit is issued, the employee can enter Canada as a visitor and work from home for the benefit of the U.S. entity.
Kindly help. Your inputs are highly appreciated.
Thanks.
