Hi everyone,
I am originally from France but moved to Canada in August 2012 to complete a BA at McGill. I graduated in December and it was made official in February, that is when I started my online application for the PGWP. My study permit is good until August 2016, so no problem with that. The issue, and I didn't know it would be one, is that I went back home and traveled for a little while until yesterday, when I got back to Montreal. The immigration officers told me I should have never left and were confused about my status. I am not a student anymore but I am not a worker yet. They ended up allowing me to enter the country but without providing me with any information (stamped my passport and asked me to leave before they change their minds). And obviously, my status of myCIC has not changed at all.
So I am here, but I don't know what I can/cannot do. Do I have to wait to get my PGWP, go flagpoling and return to Canada? Can I work for the time being or am I just on hold? And what exactly is the implicit status; does it apply to me?
Thank you very much for your help! I have a few interviews lined up and I would hate having to miss them for legal purposes.
