Hi All ,

I am currently in my maternity leave , and i do have one year of full time work experience before my maternity leave in canada .I am receiving EI benefits right now. I would like to know what to answer for the below questions ,

1. Is xxx currently working in Canada ? (My experience letter from the company doesnt show the maternity leave , it states as if i am working till now)
2. I do have valid job offer , so answering no to question 1 , will make me loose 50 points?
3. In work history should i show the date till i worked before maternity leave ? (Should i split before and after maternity )

I am yet to join back , i am still in my maternity leave .

Thanks & Regards

1. X is on maternity from employer Y.
2. Do you have a new job offer?
3. Would split it up into work and maternity leave.

1. You should say no and indicate you are on maternity leave. You are on maternity leave and not working.
2. What kind of work permit do you hold? Do you have an approved LMIA to support your job offer?
3. Yes - split out your maternity leave.

1. You should say no and indicate you are on maternity leave. You are on maternity leave and not working.- Will I be getting points for valid job offer?Because when i select "No" , questions like " did you work full time for one year with the current employer" and "is your current employer's name is in your work permit" , "Was positive LMIA issued for the current work permit" disappear , which seems to be valid questions.
2. What kind of work permit do you hold? Do you have an approved LMIA to support your job offer?- Closed work permit and LMIA exempt.
3. Yes - split out your maternity leave- When i split out maternity leave , it asks for job title and noc code which i don't have, currently i am in maternity leave and am yet to join back...

They are valid questions, and they disappear when you correct your profile because one of the requirements for having a valid job offer is to be currently working for the employer, which you are not.

If you need the points for a valid job offer to be eligible, suggest waiting until after you return to work, so that you can answer yes to the current employer question. BTW, simply having a job is not a valid job offer, you will still need a written offer of FUTURE employment (for at least one year after you become a permanent resident) to be eligible for the points.
