Masters considered as diploma in WES report

I have completed a 2-year full-time Masters course in Mass Communication. However the same has been considered as a 1-year Diploma course by WES, as per their report.

Yes, go ahead and ask that they reconfirm that your masters from your particular school is only equivalent to a Canadian diploma.
