Hello everyone,
I need your advice regarding a mistake in my Express Entry profile.
When I first created my profile, someone helped me fill it out and mistakenly indicated that I was married. In reality, I am single. Unfortunately, I only noticed this error after I had already received my Invitation to Apply (ITA).
As soon as I realized the mistake, I corrected my marital status in my permanent residence application and I also submitted a webform to IRCC explaining the situation. In my letter, I clarified that the error was made by a third party, not intentionally by me, and I am ready to provide official proof (birth certificate, certificate of single status, etc.) to confirm that I am single.
My concern is whether IRCC will consider this as misrepresentation and refuse my application, even though my CRS score as a single applicant is actually higher than as married. I had no benefit from this mistake, and I am trying to be transparent.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Did IRCC accept the correction with explanation and proof, or did they refuse the application?
Thank you for your help and advice.
