Marriage during the PR process

Hello everyone,

I am in Canada and applied for PR three months ago under the Temporary Public Policy Stream: Pathways from Temporary to Permanent Residence. however, I intend to return to my country in March to get married.

Questions:

- Will this marriage affect my PR application? negative or positive

- Do I have to notify IRCC of a change in marital status? if yes how to do it?

Not sure about impact. BUT you have to notify IRCC about your marriage and add your spouse to the application (either accompnaying or not accompanying). She/he will need to go through medical, police, security check etc.

Do not skip that. If spouse is not added before you landed as PR, you can NEVER sponsor your spouse after you become PR.
