Marriage during student Visa status

Hi all

I am an International student, pursuing Masters in Comp Sc in Canada.

My fiance is in India and we are trying to figure out the best possible way to get together. I have completed half of my course here. Is it ok to marry while being a student, or shall I do it after the PR application process?

He is currently working in an MNC back in India.

What are the pros and cons in each case?

It is fine to get married while still a student. If you get married after you become a PR, you will then have to sponsor him. You might then be separated during the processing time. If you get married before, he will be included on your application. When he is included on your application, he will have to pass the medical and background checks. If he does not, your PR will be refused as well.
