I got the certified marriage certificate (long piece of paper) is this okay to use?

It's an Ontario marriage certificate btw

Yes. This is fine. I made a photocopy of mine and included it with the application.
 
It looks like a photocopy of my marriage license and in the top right hand corner it says certificate number: with my number

Yup. That's exactly what mine looks like.

There's a strong chance you won't get it returned. Why waste the money on an original when a photocopy is acceptable?

I didn't notarize mine. The application kit checklist says photocopy. If you have any other country-specific guidelines to follow, check those to be sure, but if you're a U.S. applicant I'm pretty sure the answer to that question is no.
 
I just want to make sure it doesn't need to be notarized, I now have a photocopy
 
For some reason I was under the impression that with the new applications they wanted originals, I'm not sure why......just over thinking I guess!
 
We just sent in a photocopy (not notarized) of the regular marriage certificate (brown and cream) not the long one.
