where in the application should i put or marriage certificate?
should i place it in the proof section?
or does another section need a marriage certificate too

It goes with the documents for the applicant, look at the checklist. It falls under civil status/identity documents, proving their relationship to the sponsor.

Don't send the original if that's what you're planning on doing, they just want copies The only original thing they need is the FBI clearance.

I put one with mine and one with my husbands just to cover all my bases, and I put it under supporting documents.

I put it with the document checklist in the same order as found on the list.

I don't think it really matters as long as they can find it. They don't really specify exactly where to put everything, but I guess that's why they have a document checklist.
