Hi,

My girlfriend is 19 years old, from nepal and i am 21 years old (indian) we got married 8 months ago in a court in my country india, and have a court marriage certificate.

Legal age to get married in her country (nepal) is 20 (only if marrying a foreigner, otherwise its 18) therefore we got married in my country (india) where legal age is 18 so technically this marriage is not valid as per her country laws but valid in my country.

Now the situation is,
she is willing to go canada for higher studies and i would like to join her as a dependent while she finishes her course.

Since she is nepali citizen with nepali passport so would this marriage be considered valid to authorities to grant dependent visa to me?

If it was valid in India and valid as per the laws of Canada, it is recognized.
