When sending our application, do we send the original marriage certificate?
Or if not, does the copy have to be notorized?

Please help :)

Thanks in advance.

The Region Specific Guide for Western Europe says that you must send a photocopy of your marriage certificate. It doesn't say it needs to be notarized.

The guide doesnt say notarized copy in ND. Many people, including myself have sent just a regular copy, not notarized when you apply through the Spousal Sponsorship stream.

For Skilled Workers for some reason it's different, they specifically say notarized photocopies.

This is what is creating confusion....

if inland u dont need to notarize. i think u should notarize if its outland.

Again, 100%, it's program and region specific. However, when in doubt either pay the money and do it anyways, or call and ask.

i applied inland and my application is complete.
i sent simple photocopy and there were no problems ;) i didnt notarize anything for inland application.

All I was saying is, if by chance it is an outland app. It is dependant on where she is and what her forms ask for. The inland and outland process is different . So thats why I said program dependant (inland and outland) and then again by regions. Some ask for notarized and some just simple photocopies. Mine is through ND and I didnt need it notarized.

It would help when asking a question so specific to indicate where you are applying and how you are applying. That way you shouldn't get so many diversified answers.

Best of luck OP.
