Hi all,
I just wanted to know if in the IELTS writing tasks 1 and 2, the mark in task achievement or coherence and cohesion is an average to all sub-points or is it the mark of the lowest component out of them?
I'm stuck at 6.5 at writing like many others. I took the exam 3 times but I always score the same mark even though I scored R9 L8.5 S7.5 . I even applied for a remarking twice but with no end result.
I only wanted to know my mistakes to work on them so I paid for a writing evaluation. In it, I scored 6 overall where I scored 5 in task achievement. However, inside the task achievement itself there are five sub-points where I scored 9 and 8, but one 5. So shouldn't my task achievement be 7.5 instead? Is it the same in the real test? or is it the average of all components? I know the total mark is the average, but does each point take its lowest component's mark?
Thank you.
