Well, I'm new here, but I thought that I would give this a try. We have applied for my wife's PR - it will be going through the Manila office and is outbound. I completely don't understand the steps in the process or the acronyms, but I copied this from another post.

Visa Office:_Manila____________
Meds done:__17 Jan 2014___________
Application filed:___________
AOR Stage 1: ______________
Sponsorship approval:__________
AOR Stage 2:_____________

If anyone else wants to join in and swap info on the Manila office that would great. If anyone can explain the steps and what all of the abbreviations mean that would be good too.

Here are some Manila application threads :)

Also, AOR is acknowledgement of receipt, and you should be getting one from CPC-Mississauga hopefully within the month. After that, you'll get an email (or letter in the mail) for Sponsorship Approval (SA). After that, Mississauga sends your application off to Manila, where you'll get a second AOR, and then eventually your application will be in process, you'll get PPR (passport request), then Decision Made (DM). In process and DM will show up on the ECAS website which you can access once you get your UCI (unique client identification number) which you'll get with your first AOR from Mississauga.

Just one correction here, You won't get an AOR from Manila.
You have to take CIC word that app has been forwarded.
Many who go through Manila never receive any word until PPR or additional docs required.
Good Luck, is a long wait.

Ah, thank you for the correction! I didn't know Manila didn't send an AOR.

From what I've seen, one of the few that don't send AOR.
Seems like CEM does their own thing.LOL
Must be the " black sheep of the family" have their own way of doing things.

What does CEM mean? I've heard that Manila is slow, but as we are resident in Qatar we had a choice between Manila and Abu Dhabi, and the reputation of Abu Dhabi is horrible, so Manila was the lesser of two evils I guess.

Canadian Embassy Manila.U can request a certain VISA Office, but CIC has the final say where app sent.
Always sent to applicants nearest Embassy to your country of Citizenship.
