Manitoba PNP: Why do they need reference for?

Hi Friends,

One of my friend is planning to apply for Canadian PR via Manitoba PNP program. As he understands, he needs to find a reference (family, friend, etc) as a mandatory step to be eligible. No other province has that mandate. Then why only Manitoba? Is there any specific reason?

Because manitoba province officials think that people will only want to stay there if they have a relative, because their weather is really bad.

If i am not wrong,in their EOI you have to mention any connection to the province.Please let me know if we can apply without any connection to the province. TIA

No you cannot apply without a connection. Either a close friend or relatives..

I was wrong. you DO require a connection to a Friend/ Relative in Manitoba.

I submitted my MPNP in Jan,2018.

I just realized i have said yes to second official language. But the fact is I don’t know French.

Can someone tell me how can I resolve this problem.

Ideal thing would be to contact CIC and ask them to update the application, if they can.
