Hi, i have been browsing over the topics here and i still haven't found the answer to my question. I am a permanent resident of manitoba who wants to move to other state i have been here for 10 months only. Is there anyone here who did this already?

By "state" you mean "country" or "province"? If the latter, then you can move anywhere you want, as stated on your instructions letter you received with your passport and COPR. If the former, you still can, but make sure you comply with the 2-years-within-5-years time frame.

Hi empirical,

Thanks for the response. Yes its by province. What will happen if i move and did not complete the required years of residence in manitoba?

To my knowledge, when you become a PR of Canada, you can live, study, work anywhere in this glorious land, unless of course there's a Manitoban stipulation, which I doubt.

Did you sign anything stating that you are going to stay in Manitoba for X years?

If you applied through Manitoba PNP, there is normally just a letter of intent to settle where you sign that you intend to settle in Manitoba and this must be true when you land. If you have lived in Manitoba for 10 months but not had much luck finding a good job etc. nobody can say that you did not intend to settle at the time you landed and try to settle for the 10 months you have already been there so you have really nothing to worry about if you move.

When I applied for BC PNP nomination, I showed my intent to settle in BC through what I'm involved with right now. However, that's just an intended outcome, not necessarily a legally bound and enforced one. Conditions may changed due to major forces, such as your doctor advises you to reside in Halifax for whatever reason...

If your intentions are pure and you have to move, then go for it, since you've got nothing to be afraid of. However, if you're manipulating the system by dishonestly claiming unintended outcomes, then there exists a probability haze in which you may live in some sort of natural fear :).

I have not yet heard of anyone who lost their PR because they left their PNP province too soon after landing but I have a feeling they may start cracking down on this in the future.

They currently just check people who are landing outside their PNP province. If they admit they do not intend to settle in their PNP province, they don't get their PR. If they don't admit it but the immigration officer is suspicious, they can withhold their landing papers and send them to their PNP office for an interview where they must convince the people there they are settling if they want their PR.

I also heard of one that was supposed to lose his PR because his PNP sponsor moved out of the province.

Hi thanks for all your responses, ive checked the current application forms being used and it does not stipulate in there that i have to stay for a certain period of time. I guess it os really ok to move as long as you've tried to live and settle in the province that nominated you and did not misrepresent details of settling here.
