Hey everyone,

I've been preparing my documents to submit for my PR application and one of the supporting documents that were required from me was the Malaysian PCC (Certificate of Good Conduct) covering my stay during university. The IRCC webpage says that they'll send a request letter after submitting our application which would be used as supporting evidence to use for our PCC application, but luckily I was able to get through using a screenshot of my ITA and a screenshot of the document checklist showing that it was required and it was recently approved.

However, there are 2 methods of getting the certificate:
  1. Digital (Available for download directly from the e-konsular website where the application is made)
  2. Physical (Since I live outside of Malaysia, that would be the embassy)
I updated my method of collection to physical and made the payment, and the digital copy was still available for download so I kept it aside. Here's what it looks like:

The thing is, the digital certificate is, according to the ministry of foreign affairs a "digitally certified true copy" and it even came with an acknowledgement slip stating that it is and says so in the approval slip. It also has a QR code on it which, when scanned, can be used for validation.

However, I have no idea what the physical copy looks like, so I emailed the embassy yesterday to be sure, highlighting that IRCC wants a scan of the original copy and not a certified true copy as that would result in my application being rejected and wanted to confirm that the physical certificate that I'll receive was different from the digital one, which I'm assuming is not the one I should upload.

This was their response: "The digital certificate you shall receive is the same as the physical certificate collected at the Embassy. Both documents are digitally signed by the authorized Ministry of Foreign Affairs officer."

It threw me off a little, because now I'm unsure about what the difference is between the digital and physical copy and whether or not I should just upload the digital one if they're the same or do something else.

I'd appreciate any advice I can get on what I could do in this situation and I'd love to know what someone else in a similar situation did!
