Hi everyone,

My wife and I are looking at moving to Canada but trying to make sense of the options available!

Having completed some reading around the subject it is clear that Express Entry is the way forward (I work in the IT sector and she is a lawyer but no longer wishes to practice).

I can see that I will need to send my educational documents off for Canadian Equivalence and that's pretty well explained with regards to the institutions that can do this.

With regards to the language tests, is it possible to take the relevant language test in the UK? As it appears that it's only possible to take the tests in Canada? Can anyone clarify?

It also looks like getting onto a PNP would be beneficial to us along with having job offers but it seems pretty hard to find jobs while in the UK when you're not signed up for EE and a PNP but it;s hard ot get onto PNP and EE without a job offer, I've been scouring Monster, Workopolis, BC Public service jobs and the job bank as well but not sure how to proceed on that count other than plod on and put in for jobs which look like I'd be eligible for?

Is there a PNP that would be beneficial for my partner and I to get into the country at all?

Cheers for the help in advance!

You please first get ur WES which means ur Degrees verified by the WES. Than you must give IELTS from anywhere. Remember the whole Express entry is based on scoring into IELTS. If u score listening 8 and reaming all with 7 bands than only u can score high. nothing below that would make it possible. You wife must also get minimun. So take an IELTS with lot of practice at least for about 2 months. I scored more than required and I am very near in the pool. I am waiting with 438. Just that it has still nto come below 450. Firstly make sure u get 67/100 that is eligibility and than go ahead. Read express Entry details. make sure to get IELTS highest scores. Province is a later choice. Also make sure if u are in UK more than 6 months u need police clearance. IN any country where u have stayed more than 6 months. So start with IELTS and WES degree verification. than only decide of Express entry.

hope this helps you.

i also had UK degree and it is verified as Bachelors 4 yrs equivalent to canada
i got IELTS 8 bands +
With ur wife u can score even better...best of luck
