Maintenance funds for OINP

Dear All,

Please advise me on this. I read in the OINP guide that 6 months bank statement has to be provided as a supporting document.
I can show my bank savings account which is couple of years old and a letter from the bank mentioning the balance and account opening date, but my concern is that the required funds are only 3 months old.

Do I have to wait for another 3 months to complete the 6 months period? or my current statement will do?

This should be fine. You need nt wait further. If their is any sudden influx of money during these 3 months, you need to provide an explanation for same in LoE ( Letter of Explanation). Alternatively, if you have got these funds from someone, you need to attach a Gift deed that these funds have been gifted to you and you are not supposed to return them.

Hi,

I have about CAD 11,000 in my bank savings account for the last 3 months through my employment savings.
I am planning to receive the remaining amount from my dad and submit a gift deed.

All looks fine, isn't it? Hold on.. but my concern is that the money which my dad going to gift me is not in his bank account.
My dad doesn't really like the banking system where he needs to deposit and withdraw, instead he likes to keep cash in hand.

Given the situation, How can I submit the evidence for the money deposited into my account as a gift.

I am confused.. please advise..

Alternatively, if I want to sell some of my wife's jewelries and deposit the money into my account, what is the evidence I can submit for that money?
