I just got my spouse PR visa stamped. Now my company is asking if I can work in US as I have already H1B stamped.
Is there any way I can work in US maintaining PR in Canada?

As far as I know, if you are living with your sponsor (Canadian citizen) you can work anywhere in the world and still maintain your PR status...it counts towards the 2 years out of every rolling 5...

Unfortunately this rule doesn't apply to naughty because his wife is a PR (not a citizen).

Naughty - You and your wife must live in Canada two out of every five rolling years to maintain PR status.

So the OP could spend a year working in the US without any trouble, as long as he/she is back in Canada for 2 years out of every rolling 5...correct?

I think it's doable, but you just have to be careful you get back to Canada to meet the residency requirements for PR holders.

OP can spend three years working in the US as long as he can then return to Canada for two straight years immediately after.

Thanks Guys,

But can PR be maintained by traveling back to Canada from US frequently like weekly, biweekly??

Yes - as long as you live in Canada two out of every five rolling years. The two years don't have to be consecutive.

But if you are constantly travelling back and forth, wouldn't that make it more difficult to prove you have met the 2 year residency requirement? I mean, what does CIC look for when assessing the requirement has been met? Lease? Phone bills? What exactly do PR holders use to prove they have been in Canada for 2 out of 5 years?
