Made mistake on IMM5957 E Form ?

Hello Friends,

i was refused By cic in january 2015 for study permit with other reason -

i wrote on IMM5957 E form under "STUDY PERMIT QUESTIONNAIRE" section -

i was doing IELTS after 2013 - 2014 ,in actual i was doing it but, also pursuing my graduation along with this

i did'nt mention on this column that i was in the 1st year of my graduation because it is 3 year course , it do not make any sense to write that i am in my graduation

Now I have completed my degree and want to show it to cic from 2014-2015-2016

WILL IT CAUSE ANY TROUBLE TO MY FRESH APPLICATION ??

Sorry Hardeep but a VO may take it as misrepresentation rather than a mistake.
A misrepresentation is always a mistake so to say.

i know i am in critical situation, but i did'nt show any false documentation or not going to show any fake documents to cic,

in actual i was doing IELTS at that time ,that is why i wrote it on column

my mistake i did'nt write my first year graduation on it

so, any idea ?

Sure friend,

I was refused by other reason only.that my course was not relavant with my past studies,,

It was after my secondary school,now i have completed my graduation and want to apply again

Thanks for your reply. Understanding your reason of rejection, I would say that it is not a big deal if you explain in your letter of explanation that this was the case. It would not be taken as misrepresentation.

Because "misrepresentation" is only taken into account when a detail in the application is omitted or misrepresented in such a manner which would otherwise might have influenced the case officer to change his/her decision. example. Bundhel v. Canada (Citizenship and Immigration), 2014 FC 1147

So in your case, if you had even shown IELTS as 1 year before, it would have not actually worked in favour of your application, rather it would have been a mistake. But this time, if you did not mention this change from your earlier application, it would be taken as a misrepresentation.

So DO MENTION this change in your letter of explanation.

I understand that other members in this forum also have a better understanding on this topic and would request them to join in.

Hardeep, If I was in your situation I would definitely consult a lawyer or consultant of repute who's dealt with difficult and challenging cases like yours. This will save you another rejection. Depending on members advice alone (in your case) is not a good option for you, dear. Best wishes and good luck.
