I HAVE RECEIVED PASSPORT REQUEST YESTERDAY BY MAIL.

IT SAYS THAT THE SIR AND GIVEN NAMES MUST BE PRINTED ON LINES OF SIR AND GIVEN NAMES SEPERATELY. MY DAUGHTER HAS A MANUAL PASSPORT. ALTHOUGH THE SIR AND GIVEN NAMES ARE HANDWRITTEN ON SEPARATE LINES IT DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE OF SIR AND GIVEN NAME. IS IT A PROBLEM?

IT DOES NOT SAY THAT THE PASSPORT MUST BE MACHINE READIBLE.

Hey , well i don' t know if they wrote on your passport request letter to send ONLY machine readable passports , But as far as i know , it is not a must to have this machine readable pp , my visa was stamped on a my manual passport and as far as i know, machine readable PP are not compulsory to enter Canada .
Gud luck!

hi SAMDXB

u don't have to submit any MRP as this is not asked by London CHC. i double checked with our friends & seniors like AZOLYMA2CANADA, CHEOT09 & QORAX & alll of them replied that it is not any requiremtn of London CHC to submit MRP.

just send the passports that u now have & u will receive the maple leaf within 2 weks :D.

good luck....

Re: MACHINE READABLE PASSPORT \ MANUAL PASSPORT

Hi everybody,

I hold a handwritten Passport issued in 1999 and which is valid till 2019. Although it has the PP # perforated (like Braille) on the top, still the embedded codes are missing underneath the photograph, as is the norm and are now prevalent in the new PPs.

Can anyone kindly confirm whether it is imperative that all aspiring Canadian immigrants should have a 'MACHINE READABLE PASSPORT'?

I have tried searching this topic on the forum but have received conflicting views.

Come on guys, let us have your final and determined say on this subject! It will be really beneficial to people like me in avoiding delay and the rush once the medicals/PPR request is received!

Best Wishes!

I also hold manual/handwritten passport where there is no separate headlines for "Given Name" and "Surname". My fulll name appears under the single heading of NAME.

However since CHC required Given Name and Surname to be printed separately on their update sheet, therefore I followed exactly the same as they instructed and I got my passport back with visa.

Relax buddies,

MRPs (Machine Readable Passports) r not a requirement for entering Canada, except from the Czech Republic.

The following are not considered travel documents for the purposes of subsections R50(1) or R52(1):
-Any passport purporting to have been issued by Somalia;
-Non-machine readable passports issued by the Czech Republic;
-Temporary Passports issued by the Republic of South Africa; and
-Provisional Passports issued by Venezuela.

@ Can10,

Thank you very much! That is a big worry (and the ensuing hassles) off my mind!

Hi regarding the MRP, I saw a copy of the passport request letter sent by the VO to an applicant in another thread. It specified that the MRP passport must be submitted. i dunno if it is specific to Manila VO or all the VOs.
