Hi All,
As we all know that Canada has planned to invite more people by 2020, I hope we all were in the impression that the CRS cut off may go low and people with CRS score less than 440 like me will also get an opportunity. But if we notice the previous couple of draws then we can see that it is not the case. They raised the cutoff to 457 in the 2nd draw of 2019 and slightly decreasing scores for each draw but it is still not lower than 450. On the other hand, the number of applicants also seems to be increased a lot and also the number of invitations per each draw got reduced (consistently 3350).
Here are the couple of points that I want to highlight (or how I am seeing the trend),
Number of applicants in the pool
As on March 29th,
CRS score range Number of candidates
601-1,200 246
451-600 1,961
401-450 34,249
On 29th, candidates above 451 are 2207. Now if we see the number of invitations (3350) that are sent and the previous cut off (451), it clearly indicates that the number of applications is increasing rapidly (+ 1143) in the pool and obviously with very good scores.
So considering all these things, I am a bit worried now that the scores may not go lower than 445 and may stagnate between 445 - 455 throughout this year. I am assuming this with the basic analysis I did. I would be grateful if someone can correct this and provide an appropriate analysis.
