hi guys

I was reading over a thread from last year and one guy advised in depth that if you loose a lmia job after getting AOR then it has no bearing on your application.

Anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks

Even you lost the Job based on LMIA, you have still a valid status in Canada. You cannot work but you can stay until the expiration date of work permit. And no, It won't affect your application as long as you didn't claim 50 points for valid job offer.

Unfortunately I claimed 50 points - i've been here working for 3 coming 4 months now.

On a previous thread, one guy was adamant it made no difference once e-APR has been done.

CIC verifies if the employment is genuine through verification calls given to employers. Nowadays, some applicants are scheduled for an interview before receiving PPR. Don't jeopardize your application especially if you claimed points on your job.

The role is very high pressured, more so might be the firms choice to let me go as appose to mine. 3/4 months is a long time in my environment, depends how quick CIC check up. Find it strange that its called "arranged employment" then you have to somehow survive in it during the entire of PR process as appose to ITA.

That's true in case someone claimed points for work experience in Canada or abroud (min 1 year of experience). When this person lose job after AOR then he/she is still fine.

If you have at least 1 year skilled job experience already in hand and the LMIA was only increasing your points then try to recalculate your score without this 50 points/LMIA and check if it fall under the cutoff score from your round of invitation. If it's not, then you should be still fine, as long as you are still matching the criteria for program you have been invited under. Just rise CSE with explanation that you have lost your job under LMIA but your score is still above and you still match all critieria for the program.
If the score fall under then you probably will need to withdraw your application. Depending at which stage in processing it was they might still refund all amount of money. I would suggest still to consult your situation with some immigration conultant.
