Does anyone know of companies in VANCOUVER, BC where I can get some help from representatives?
I've found a place where they do the entire application(spousal sponsorship) for you but costs a lot of money. I was wondering if there are any other places around that have different services... such as, checking your application before sending it and them telling you what you should change or add before you send it.

I am also searching for someone to get some suggestions on nominal payment, not for whole package.
Did u find someone at-last? Do you think that applying through Representative may want VO to seek more detailed and defect-less information which could be considered if we apply ourselves?

How would you define a lot of money? Most lawyers charge about 3-5K for the whole case. Some will have you deposit 5000 in an account and they just draw from that account as they do the work on a per hour basis.

What language do you speak?

I would be careful looking for a representative as I have heard many horror stories from people who did not get their money's worth at all from a representative/lawyer. Unless you have a very difficult case, I would try to do it yourself and just ask people's advice here, and get a friend or 2 who are native/very fluent English speakers to go over the application. The visa office will not hold an application with a representative to any higher standard than one completed without a representative. It might be a lot of work to do it yourself, but in the end, all the research and prep are worth it, and you don't have to pay anyone.

I assume that you have largely completed the application yourself, but want an "expert" to fine tune it. Many immigration consultants will do that for about $250-$500.

What you want is a consultant who will identify problems, and suggest solutions that you can then use to change the application.

You don't want a consultant who merely identifies a lot of problems, hoping that you will hire him/her to revamp your application. So to prevent that, only hire a consultant who promises to suggest the solution to any problems he or she notes.

Safer still is to get the consultant to glance at your application -- before you hire him/her -- identify one problem, and present the solution. This will represent the level of service you can expect with the rest of the application. Only this way can you know with reasonable certainty that you will be happy with the service.

One consultant who consistently shows a high level of competence and professionalism is Rjessome, who writes on this forum often.

Landed with God's grace on 7/3/2012
Paid $250 for a lawyer to look at my applications. A week later he gave us back our application and said its very well complied and said we have to check all the forms ourselves to make sure we have all the questions answered and ticked ??? We thought that was his job, to make sure that it is ready to be mailed out. So at the end of the day, after $250 poorer, we were back to square one.

I was going to get a consultant to look at it, but I just sent it in. If you can read and understand English, why get someone to look things over?

A new pair if eyes never hurts. Writers need editors for this reason. Maybe you think some explanation is clear, but it's not really. Maybe you answered "no" but should have answered "yes", or at least should have added a brief explanation in the cover letter.

The poster who reported wasting $250 for a lawyer's quick review corroborates my advice to first ask for the expert to identify and fix one thing, as an illustration of their work, to allow you to see how thorough or unhelpful they would be if hired.

I would suggest you to go with lawyer whoe's forum we are using the owner of canadavisa.com David Cohen. I hired him too and couple of my family friends he is being in this field for over 30 years. I had a very good experience with him. Hope this hleps you.
