Looking for employers who support with LMIA

Hi guys,
My PGWP will expire in November 2023. I'm currently working at Shoppers as an Assistant Manager and they do not provide LMIA. I'm already in the pool for CEC Program, but my score isn't high enough to get picked and I don't have enough time to wait based on what my lawyer said. I need to extend my WP but the employer already said No to the LMIA. I have a job offer from a family restaurant where I can be a full-time supervisor and get my LMIA but my lawyer said it doesn't make sense when I jump from retail to the restaurant. In my opinion, management is management doesn't matter what field I am in, but I don't want to take the risk. Shall I look for another job related to retail only and does anyone have experience or know any employers that are willing to provide LMIA? Or is there any options that I can do in this situation? I'm looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thank you and much appreciated.

What is your CRS score? Will LMIA make it high enough for ITA? You need to find your own employer willing to go through LMIA. For the restaurant, you need to show experience in hospitality/food to prove that no one in Canada can do it.

I'm at 431 now and if I get a LMIA it will be 481 which is good enough. I used to work at the restaurant before in a short term but I don't have any certificate or more experience related to food industry, so do you think it's too risky if I choose to work there now? It's really hard to find an employer who is willing to provide a LMIA now.

But has the employer filed for the LMIA, paid the $1k and done all the paperwork? If not, you would not want to change jobs. The whole point of the LMIA is to prove no Canadian, PR or someone on a work permit could not be hired. If you are working there then no point for a LMIA. And if you are working there, they would need to start the hiring process from scratch and show that no one applied.

They don't want to file a LMIA and they said No to me directly since they are corporate. I've worked there for 4 years since I was a student. They clearly do not support me so I have to change job otherwise my WP will expire.

Shoppers are not going to be able to get a LMIA. They are correct. Has nothing to do with you working there for a long time. Their LMIA will not be approved by ESDC. My question is about the family restaurant.

Just to add usually small businesses are able to take the pain of LMIA since they need an employee to work with them for longer time. If they are willing to do that then its no harm.
