Would that be considered continuous?

"My situations is: I worked for 7 months with company X working as store manager. I then had to take 2 months of unpaid leave because I was waiting on my work permit extension (foreigner in the US). After I got my work permit extension, I worked 7 more months with the same company, in the same position. Would that count as 1 year of experience?"
No! Had u got 2 months paid leave u would have been eligible but 2 months unpaid leave is a big elephant in this equation

Hi guys, for paid leave, do we simply subtract the leave days from the entire employment period?
For example, regarding a 52-week contract, if a person:
  • worked 20 weeks & 4 days, and
  • took a paid leave for 2 weeks,
  • and then back to work for 29 weeks & 3 days
Can that person count this employment 50 weeks (20 weeks + 4 days + 29 weeks + 3 days)?
Or better count it 49 weeks (20 weeks + 29 weeks) to be on the safe side?

Thanks!

It's a short paid vacation. You include the 2 weeks paid leave in your work experience calculation.

I wish... I went overseas, so I have to exclude it :/
Some said it'd be safer to count 49 weeks, but I wonder if it is reasonable claim 50 weeks by adding up all days for which I worked.

that's good for you. Did you travel abroad and list that on your travel history? I mean I can imagine that if I traveled within the country and my letter did not mention the break, it would be fine. But since this was an oversea trip, I have to disclose it.

Not only did I mention in my travel history, I even put the stamp pages of my passport bearing those dates. In fact vacations were 9 weeks in total. Who ever says otherwise discard that. I m the living example of your situation

I have a similar situation.
I worked as a TA part-time in USA from August 2016 to Feb 2019. I had a month gap in August 2017 and August 2018. Although I was still employed by my university under same NOC. But I did not receive salary for that month each year. My experience letter from university doesn't mention any gaps.
Do you guys think this will create a problem in my application under FSW while proving continuous work experience.

Heyy i am going to apply for ee after finishing my masters degree i have an issue regarding work experience
i worked from jan->sep 2017(9m)
Traveled from sep->dec 2017
Then worked at the same company and same job from
Jan2018->till now (2years of cont work)
If i work an additional 3 months can i claim 3 years of work exp ?

I really need help regarding my work experience that I'm intending to claim for EE.

......Please be patient reading my situations so that you can assist me.

Maybe I have asked and shared my concerns about my work experience before . However, It is the best chance for me these days to obtain my work experience proofs as it may not be easy if I postponed this task.

......In short, my questions are about my paid holidays / breaks that I had in my home country not the country where I reside for working.

Here is my travel history;
....,......................................
From 22/July/2017 till 8/April /2018.... (in the country where I work approx. 8 months)

From 8 /April /2018 till 30/may /2018 ..( in my home country approx. 1 month and 20 days )

From 30 /may /2018 till 11 /October /2018 ( in the country where I work approx. 4 months)

From 11/October/ 2018 till 2 /november/2018 (in my home country approx. 20 days)

From 2/ November /2018 till 3 February /2019 ( in the country where I work approx. 3 months)

From 3/ February /2019 till 1 / May /2019 (in my home country approx. 3 months)

My last 3 months was in the country where I work.
.....,.............................
The reasons for my breaks are mainly that I was very vulnerable to malaria and typhoid, I was not only taking medicines but also I was taking injections in order to become fine. I had to take these breaks to quit suffering.

My questions are;

1) is it better for me to claim only my first year of work experience as it has only 1 month and 20 days Paid break? Or should i include my whole 2 years period (full time)

2) should I mention the reasons in the LOE for my breaks (due to malaria and typhoid ). Or it is better not?

I was paid each month throughout the 2 years and it was on a full time employment.

Unfortunately, I don't have other sufficient work experiences to claim , especially after this pandemic.

I really need a deep insight and help in this, very tired of thinking and feeling frustrated. I'm writing my questions here in order to take a legal approach.

Sorry about wasting some of your time to read this, and I hope to get a successful help.

Thank you.
