Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has a similar situation to mine and can offer any advice:

I am a skilled worker with a British Passport (recruitment manager, oil and gas) and currently work in Calgary on a 2 year, employer sponsored LMO. My LMO expires on the 1st August 2014. We applied for a renewal which was rejected as we had over 100 applicants during the advertising process, they did not believe that there were no Canadian nationals who could do my job. My employer followed all of the rules and interviewed a dozen people who had relevant resumes, however none fit the critera and we highlighted the reasons why in the application. They then also rejected the appeal.

We have just started advertising for a fresh LMO but I am really sceptical about the probability of this coming back as positive when my renewal was rejected. Has anyone had this situation before and has anyone had a positive result?

I also have an application in for AINP but it is highly unlikely that I will get this before my LMO expires. I desperately do not want to leave my job/Canada. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It would probably make more sense to post this question to the Foreign Workers section of the forum.

Thanks... I have never posted before and really have no idea what I am doing..
Thank you for your help.

It's for the same job.

These days there is a lot of uproar against the temporary foreign workers in Canada. The govt is under huge pressure to shut this program which takes away jobs from Canadians. I won't be surprised if it gets rejected again. Each day the Govt is getting hammered with the TFW program

Yeah, certainly not feeling too confident and completely appreciate the priority to give roles to Canadians. The funny thing is, we have 4 or 5 open positions in our office which we have been recruiting for for around 6 months- the skill set really does not seem to be here and this will adversely affect the profitability of the company I work for. I would class my self as high earning and in a high tax bracket- my spot will not be filled easily by someone else in Canada. Just a tough situation.
We highlighted in the new application that we have hired 2 junior Canadian candidates to work under my supervision to show that we are attempting at all costs to hire local people, but the fact remains that to find someone with 2+ years of solid alberta oil and gas recruitment experience is proving very difficult.

I am looking to apply for a bridging visa and stay here on implied status as I have now submitted an application through Canadian Experience Class.

Its a complete minefield!
