Ladies and Gents,
I have a family member who was working in the finance department for a company in Canada. Initially, they began working for the company on an open work permit while in Canada on a working holiday visa.
Following the expiration of the working holiday visa/work permit, the company retained them on an LMIA based work permit.
They were then made redundant.
After consulting an immigration professional, we were advised that any future employment would need an LMIA.
I have read through the IRCC website and reviewed as much information I can regarding the LMIA, however I have no experience of the process.
Does anyone know if it is a difficult situation for an employer or company?
Are there many companies willing to hire someone using the LMIA scenario?
Is the LMIA process a difficult thing for an employer to register for/work through?
I'm trying to understand how difficult it will be to secure employment when an LMIA is required.
Thanks,
